O escritor Norman Mailer, o dramaturgo David Mamet, os atores Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Gwyneth Paltrow e o jornalista veterano Walter Cronkite sao alguns dos recrutados para escrever no blog Huffingtonpost .A iniciativa é de Arianna Huffington, colunista e ex candidata ao Governo da California. Alem das contribuiçoes dos colaboradores famosos, o blog terá noticias e uma area de comentarios sobre midia, batizada ‘Eat the Press’.
A roteirista Nora Ephron (’Harry e Sally’ e ‘Mensagem para você’), outra convidada, disse ter sido atraída pela informalidade e pela possibilidade de equilibrar a abordagem da midia convencional.
Recentemente recebeu um investimento adicional de U$ 5 milhões. Segundo o Technorati e o USA Today, é o 5o blog mais linkado na internet, uma indicação da sua repercussão.
Deve se tornar um empreendimento lucrativo no ano que vem e sua audiência deve dobrar com as eleições americanas em 2008.
Embora ainda focado em política, o blog deve ampliar sua atuação - a fundadora Arianna Huffington planeja transformá-lo num jornal digital para todos os assuntos.
